Departure of Bhakti Charu Swami

In July, one of the leaders of GBC ISKCON, HH Bhakti Charu Swami, suddenly left us due to a disease caused by COVID-19. In the last days of Srila Prabhupada’s stay on the planet, HH Bhakti Charu Swami cooked for him and took care of him. But it is interesting that at the last lecture given by Bhakti Charu Swami, he mentions that at one point Srila Prabhupada told him - "From now on you do not have to cook for me anymore." Thus Srila Prabhupada hinted to him that he was preparing to leave from this world. We do not know whether with this anecdote from Srila Prabhupada's life HH Bhakti Charu Swami also wanted to hint at his own departure from this world because he wrote Srila Prabhupada on the Vyasa-puja offer in 2012 - ''I have now finished everything you asked of me, please allow me to return to you now."

On the occasion of his departure, a special lecture was given by Vaikuntha Murti das in the temple of Nova Jaladuta.

Departure of Daya Mayi mataji

Daya Mayi devi dasi, a disciple of HH Sacinandana Swami and a well-known public figure who met devotees some thirty years ago, left the body. Even in her last weeks she prepared an evening of poetry to which she invited devotees to enrich her with bhajans, but it is obvious that her body more than 90 years old could not stand it. Daya Mayi mataji will also remain famous for the radio dramas she worked for Croatian Radio, the most famous of which was the drama "Jada Bharata".

Kirtan evening

At the meetings of the new Local Vaisnava Council, one of the accepted plans until the end of this year is to continue raising spiritual standards by conducting kirtan evenings, japa workshops (chanting 64 rounds), encouraging the reading of Srila Prabhupada's books... Thus, in July, the first kirtan evening was organized by Vaikuntha Murti dasa. These programs will take place once a month.

Sunday Feast outdoors

Due to the increase in the number of people suffering from the corona virus, devotees began to organize Sunday programs in the meadow next to the temple. So far, three such programs have been held. The devotees liked the programs very much (we believe the neighbors as well), and we also noticed that the vegetables in the garden grow better.

Brahmacharys on a "cruise"

HH Bhakti Ananda Thirtha Swami this year, as in previous years, organized harinams and sankirtan on the Adriatic islands, which were reached by devotees by sailing boat. Bramacharys of the Zagreb Temple were members of the crew with Nayanananda dasa and assisted the Maharaja in distributing Srila Prabhupada's books and spreading the holy name in hard-to-reach places. The continuation of this tour is expected in early August.

Organization of lectures on the island of Pašman

Our devotees, Mataji Jovana and Vedanta Krt dasa organized many programs on the island of Pašman, and it is important to point out that one of the programs merged with the program of devotees who came by boat and who were mentioned in the previous news. HH Bhakti Ananada Tirtha Swami gave two lectures on the island of Pašman.

Book distribution at the "Seasplash Festival"

Adatha dasa and bhakta Gauranga visited an alternative music festival called the "Seasplash Festival". During that festival, they shared a significant number of books and took many contacts so that they could establish some future collaboration with the festival organizers.

The final stage is the installation of solar panels

Fundraising for solar panels is underway and progressing very well, and HRK 30,000.00 has been raised so far. It remains to collect HRK 10,000.00 up to the total required amount of HRK 40,000. Solar panels will be placed on the roof of the temple building and will be used to heat sanitary water. At the same time, negotiations began to install 6 more panels that would be installed in the near future and would heat water in winter for radiators and thus reduce heating costs by two-thirds of the amount needed to purchase wood.

We still ask you to support this commendable action with your donations to IBAN: HR5623400091510955126.
